In 1770 midshipman on Somerset, commanded 3 guns on the frigate Coventry, 1778 at Pondicherry, in 1771 Lieut in sloop Chaser, prisoner of war in Bangalore Goal, invalided back to England in 1784, commanded a ship at the mutiny of The Nore.
